Asphalt Killer
Original Painting - Acrylics on canvas 100x80cm. (39x31 Inches)
Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3 AMG
24 Hours Spa 1971, Class Winner, 2nd Overall
This Mercedes Benz represents what a racing car meant to me as a kid: Red color, fat tyres, lots of fog lights and a menacing stance.
This Mercedes marks the beginning of AMG, the sports division of the german car maker. when it raced for the first time in the 24 Hours of Spa in 1971, it became instantly the public’s favorite racing car. Not only did look great, it also performed well, winner in its class and second place overall.
In 1972 disappeared from the race tracks and ended as a test vehicle for aircraft tyres. Mercedes built an exact replica of it, and is the one that is portrayed here.
A must piece for fans of Mercedes AMG, for car enthusiasts and collectors and for art lovers.
